Big Pink Sightseeing – Gray Line of Portland Announces 2014 Schedules

The 2014 Hop-On Hop-Off tour features an addition to the route to include more sights in downtown.  There are now 12 stops with the addition of the stop at Lownsdale Square in the heart of Portland’s public buildings.  The popular tour continues to include Washington Park and its unique features and attractions.

Hop-On Hop-Off Tours start on May 24th.  During May, June, September the tours start each day at 10:00 am.  During July and August tours start at 9:00 am.    The tours depart hourly and operate on the following schedule:

The Gray Line Multnomah Falls and Columbia River Gorge Tour begins again on May 24th with its extremely popular itinerary to the Columbia River Gorge attractions.  Tours leave at 8:45 am every day of the week except on Wednesdays.

Big Pink Sightseeing featured in The Oregonian

“To a certain type of tourist, Portland can seem intimidating.
Ours is a comparatively small city, a friendly, clean place with ample and easy to navigate public transportation.
But some out of towners, drawn here by our great food, majestic scenery and funky shopping, do not ride a bus or a train back home and do not understand that most of the homeless people and panhandlers they’ll run into as they maneuver through our fair city merit sympathy, not fear.
I call this variety of tourist “my mom.” David Beagle and David Duncan have a plan for her.
This spring, these two veterans of the tourism industry started “Big Pink Sightseeing,” a hop-on, hop-off tour that offers sightseers willing to spend $24 an easy way to see the city’s major, mainstream attractions. One dollar from each ticket will go to breast cancer research, thus the pink.”
